Extremely early intrauterine growth restriction with dramatic sFlt-1/PlGF ratio
Viktor OSHOVSKYY 1 ✉, Kostyantyn MYLYTSYA 2

The ratio of soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (sFlt-1) to placental growth factor (PlGF) is increased in preeclampsia. The ability to accurately rule out preeclampsia, eclampsia, and the HELLP syndrome within 1 week on the basis of the sFlt-1/PlGF ratio is likely to improve clinical decisions with regard to hospitalization versus outpatient monitoring and the intensity of outpatient monitoring. The aim of this study was to present a rare case of early placental dysfunction with extremely high sFlt-1/PlGF ratio.
KEY WORDS: Placenta; Pre-eclampsia; Fetal growth retardation
