BACKGROUND: The objective of this study is to demonstrate the impact of leisure sports activities on individual physical fitness.
METHODS: The amount of leisure activities and the level of physical fitness have been investigated in 65 adults (age: 25-49 years; 30 males and 35 females) between April and November 2013. We have watched over the course of 8 months, the amount of participation of adults in various leisure sports activities. For the measurement of the individual physical fitness, we used a standard test which consisted in three physical tests that were applied individually on a monthly basis at the subject’s home.
RESULTS: Most of the leisure sports activities were performed by the aged between 25 and 29 years, followed by those aged between 30 and 34, those 35 and 39, 45 and 49 and those aged between 40 and 44 years. Over the course of eight months most activities took place in June (363 activities) and September (345 activities) and the fewest were performed in October (292 activities) and August (306 activities).
