Appendiceal endometriosis: a diagnostic dilemma

Endometriosis is defined as an ectopic presence of endometrial tissue outside of the uterin cavity. Endometriosis that placed on the appendix, is a rare clinical condition. It is usually diagnosed incidentally in the histopathological examination of the appendicitis specimen. We present a rare condition that causes acute appendicitis in a woman patient who admitted with acute abdomen.
