Changes in menstrual pattern after joining hostel

BACKGROUND: Menstrual cycle is influenced by different factors. In this study, we tried to find out if change in place of stay affected menstrual cycle.
METHODS: Ninety-five young women participated in this study. Their experience of menstrual cycle before and after joining the hostel was collected in detail.
RESULTS: After joining hostel more number of participants experienced irregular cycle and increase in blood loss. Whereas many reported their pain decreased in terms of severity and number of days.
CONCLUSIONS: This study confirms the influence of change in place of stay affects menstrual cycle.
