There is an ever increasing demand from physician, patients and associations for personalized targeted drugs. This demand is due to the fact that we still do not have a satisfactory level of patient-specific treatment in every pathologies. In order to meet this demand it is fundamental that more focus is put on gender differences and we recognize genetic gender diversity in the human species since reactions to drugs and outcomes of drug-treatment vary according to gender. Gender medicine is at the pioneering stage and for now is still not fully-explored. The aim of gender-medicine is to bring about an improvement in the treatment of various pathologies. This improvement need to take into account physio-pathological gender differences starting from base research and up to the patient bed-side.
