The aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) and atherosclerosis are at the center of a fervent scientific debate about a possible common etiology. The authors propose an interesting autopsy report of a death from cardio-respiratory AVS in which the concomitant atherosclerotic aortic pathology played a role concausal through a systolic pressure overload that has contributed to ventricular hypertrophy and heart failure before then.
