Heart failure: molecular and physiological effects of nesiritide

Nesiritide, analogus of atrial natriuretic peptide (B isoform), showed: decreasing neurohormonal activation, reducing cardiac remodeling and reducing symptoms of heart failure through control of preload, afterload and pulmonary capillary wedge pressure. This review deals with molecular and physiological effects of nesiritide and its use in heart failure.
