Medicine in art. Morphine and absinthe: two drugs of the 19th century

We examined some of the late 19th century paintings whose subjects are related to the use of drugs, particularly those commonly used at that time. So we look at “La morfina” by the catalan Rusiñol and “Absinthe” by Edgar Degas, showing how painters are able to make carefully the effects induced by these drugs.
