PDF

Aim. In the last years point of care testing (POCT) is becoming very important for emergency medicine, for diagnostic tests in primary health centre clinics or in general practice.
Methods. The authors tested HemoCue Hb 301 (haemoglobin) and HemoCue WBC (White Blood Cells) point of care in 80 patients and compared results with laboratory analysis data.
Results and conclusion. POCT results are statistically overlapping to laboratory examination and we can considered these instruments reliable devices for healt screening and for diagnosis and clinical management of patients.
