Aim. In the present paper we examine the factor structure of the Italian version of the Children Depression Scales (CDS).
Methods. We analyzed the questionnaires of 600 subjects (9-16 years old) and we considered two previous factor structures with a two-factor solution and a three-factor solution.
Results. As a first step we replicated the two-factor solution with a Confirmatory Factorial Analysis, considering the parameter estimation of correlation between errors when paired items were present for male, female and total subjects. In a second step, using a multi sample analysis, we tested CDS structure in relation whit gender.
Conclusion. From the results of these further analyses we conclude that “In-Adequate” has not difference between male and female, “Sense of Guilt” is more present in female than male.
