Congenital twisted foot
Anania V.
Clinica Ortopedica, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Roma, Roma
By congenital twisted foot is meant a foot deformity present at birth and characterized by a stable defective position of the foot as a result of altered relationships between the bones that compose it, to which are associated capsular, ligamentous, musculo-tendinous and sheath alterations. If not treated quickly, this alteration results in a structural modification of the foot skeleton as a result of which the deformity becomes ever harder to correct medically and it is necessary to resort to surgery.
