Drug treatment of severe acute asthma

Urso D. L.

U.O. di Pronto Soccorso, Ospedale “C. Magati” di Scandiano, Scandiano (Reggio Emilia)

PDF

Acute severe asthma is a medical emergency requesting immediate treatment. Therapy should be undertaken once the diagnosis of acute bronchial severe asthma is obtained including all the respiratory functional examinations. O2 therapy, β2 agonist short acting inhalers, and all systemic steroids are the cardinal treatments. The aggressive approach of these drugs and their dosages as well as their frequency, should be immediate as possible according to the clinical critical case.
