A case of centrocytic and centroblastic nodular lymphoma with low malignity and exclusively gingival localisation

The ­authors ­report a ­case of cen­tro­cytic and cen­tro­blastic lym­phoma ­with low malig­nity and a pri­mary and exclu­sive local­isa­tion in a 43 ­years-old ­woman. The cen­tro­cytic and cen­tro­blastic lym­phoma is the ­most fre­quent ­variety of non-­Hodgkin lym­phoma and rep­re­sents a lym­phop­ro­lif­er­a­tive ­pathology ­affecting lym­phatic struc­tures: ­lymph ­nodes, ­spleen and ­bone ­marrow. ­Cases ­with an extra­nodal local­isa­tion are not infre­quently doc­u­mented. His­to­log­ical anal­ysis ­reveals the struc­ture of the neo­plasm in fol­lic­ular-­like nod­ular for­ma­tions rep­re­sented by a ­dual ­cell pop­u­la­tion iden­ti­fi­able in ­small-­sized ­cell ele­ments (cen­troc­ytes) coex­isting ­with volu­mi­nous, ­rounded ­cells ­with chrom­atin posi­tioned ­behind the ­nuclear mem­brane and ­with a pro­nounced nucle­olus (cen­tro­blasts).
