PDF

Vena cava filter application is the method of choice to prevent recurrent pulmonary embolism in patients with deep venous thrombosis. A rare case, of pulmonary embolism as secondary right massive atrio-ventricular thrombosis after suspension of anticoagulation therapy is described. An appropriate filter position was performed. It is suggested to continue the therapy, in patients without contraindication to the use of anticoagulant agents, following the indications to the use of caval filter.
