Treatment of psychic disorders in rehabilitation programmes in Therapeutic Communities
Pierini G., Montemitro A., Cassini R., Tayari M.
Università degli Studi - Bologna, Dipartimento di Medicina e Sanità Pubblica
The study is based on the need to collect as many elements as possible in the debate on the modalities and methods used for the treatment of drug addiction, and in particular opium and sympatheticomimetic amines, given the extensive abuse of these classes of drugs both in terms of the widespread nature of this phenomenon and the cultural and personal commitment to dealing with a rehabilitative problem which is anything but simple. After examining the types of abuse and the most common rehabilitation techniques, the authors propose the use of a psychiatric technique of dual diagnosis, with reference to their early experience, in view of the severity of a phenomenon which requires rapid intervention times in order to include the patient in a recovery programme in which he will at least complete treatment given the considerable and sometimes dramatic failure rates reported by territorial services in motivating users of hallucinogenic and psychotropic substances.
