Atrial ­myxoma is the ­most ­common prim­i­tive ­tumor of the ­heart. The symp­tom­a­tology ­which it pro­duces is so var­i­able ­that ­myxoma is ­defined as “the ­great sim­u­lator”. In the ­described ­case the ill­ness pre­sented ­itself in the ­guise of a not ­very ­well ­defined rheu­matic dis­ease.
