Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a linear glucosamminoglican, which is mainly distributed in the skin. Under normal circumstances, HA is quite abundant in the dermis, playing a crucial role in controlling tissue hydration, tissue volume and protecting the skin from mechanical damage and chrono-aging. Nevertheless, HA concentration tends to decrease with aging, causing the main signs of aged skin. Viscoderm® Hydrobooster (HB) (IBSA Farmaceutici Italia, Lodi, Italy) is a stabilized, injectable HA solution with high deformability and low stiffness and viscosity. HB is suitable to improve dry skin and to stretch superficial wrinkles, in particular of periocular and perioral area. In this clinical series, eight patients were enrolled and treated with HB using a dual technique to stretch the static facial wrinkles. Patients were assessed at baseline, 1 month after the first injection and 3 months after the second injection. All patients showed a marked improvement in fine wrinkles and the overall aesthetic results were judged very satisfactory by both patients and the injector doctor, along with a low grade of discomfort. In conclusion, the obtained results showed the clinical long-lasting efficacy of HB in the treatment of face fine wrinkles, with a good tolerability profile.
