Wine and grapes-based cosmetic and dermo-esthetic treatments have become increasingly widespread nowadays, while several molecules present in grapes are being used as food supplements due to their antioxidant properties. Among them, resveratrol is probably the most-studied one, due to its potential antioxidant and antiatherosclerotic activity. In this paper we discuss the cutaneous damages caused by excessive consumption of wine and the potential benefits of resveratrol.
