Servizio di Fototerapia, Istituto Dermatologico San Gallicano IRCCS, Roma, Italia
Several studies have demonstrated that autologous epidermal skin grafts could be an effective treatment for selected forms of vitiligo. The aim of our study was to demonstrate the effectiveness of a commercial kit in the surgical treatment of stable forms of vitiligo. Eight patients with stable vitiligo were enrolled in this study. After surgical treatment patients were treated with NB UVB phototherapy twice a day for a period of three months. Our results demonstrated that cultured epidermal grafts can be considered a good therapeutic surgical option either for segmental vitiligo or for non-segmental stable vitiligo lesions.
