Some tumors of the skin are difficult to diagnose because clinically nondescript. However, if painful, nine specific tumors should be considered. As a method to memorize these different painful cutaneous neoformations can be useful to keep in mind the acronym “LEND AN EGG” invented by Naversen: leiomyoma, eccrine spiradenoma, neuroma, dermatofibroma, angiolipoma, neurilemmoma, endometrioma, glomus tumor, and granular cell tumor. This article presents a case of eccrine spiroadenoma and briefly summarizes the main characteristics of painful tumors of the skin.
