Werner’s syndrome (WS) or adult progeria is a very rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by a premature aging and an increased cancer risk. The earliest manifestation of WS is the lack of a growth spurt during the early teen years. However, this finding is frequently recognized only retrospectively and, therefore, the first real evidences of the disease are often represented by skin changes. In this report we describe a case of WS initially presenting with cutaneous findings, analyzing its evolution over a seven-year period. Moreover, we will discuss about the various cutaneous manifestations which may arise in this rare disorder.
