Syndactyly (συν = together, δακτυλος = finger) is the most common congenital malformation of the limbs with an incidence of 1 on 2500 live births (mostly affecting males) where two or more digits are partially or completely fused together. This fusion may involve both soft tissues and bones or the former only.
