Elevated serum muscular enzymes in psoriasis patients
D’Amico D., De Giacomo P., Ferri R., Valenti G.
Unità Operativa di Dermatologia, Azienda Ospedaliera “Pugliese Ciaccio”, Catanzaro, Italia
Among a sample of about 200 patients with moderate-severe or arthropathic psoriasis, 15 were noted to have elevated serum muscular enzyme levels and a tendency to easy fatigue prior to the beginning of and during psoriasis treatment. After excluding other causes, our attention focused on potential associations of psoriasis with neuromuscular syndromes. While no conclusions can be drawn from our preliminary data, we felt it interesting to describe the finding of elevated serum CPK in patients with moderate-severe or arthropathic psoriasis.
