A case of bandlike melasma

Gimma A., Cardinali C., Niccoli M. C., Lo Scocco G.

Unità Operativa Dermatologia, USL 4 Prato

Melasma is a common acquired hypermelanosis characterized by brown patches chiefly localized to sun-exposed areas. This report describes the case of a 29-year-old man who presented to the unit because of a hyperpigmented band near the midline of the forehead but without other manifestations of clinical significance. A diagnosis of bandlike melasma was based on clinical and histopathologic findings.
