Laser in psoriasis
Fernández-Guarino M., Jaén P. ✉
Ramón y Cajal Hospital, University of Alcalá, Madrid, Spain
Psoriasis is often recalcitrant to conventional treatments. Laser for psoriasis treatment has been investigated since mid-1980s. The aim of this paper was to review the articles about laser treatment in psoriasis. A review of the medical literature in Pubmed database was performed using the terms “psoriasis” and “laser”. All trials to date were included. A total of 39 trials were found, 18 of excimer laser, 12 of pulsed dye laser, 7 of ablative laser and 2 of Neodymium-YAG laser. In this article the authors revised these studies in order to elucidate the role of laser in the treatment of psoriasis.
