A case of nevus of Ota in a 28 years-old woman from South America is reported. The patient presented a bluish pigmented area with sharp edges and irregular border on the right side of the face. The sclera of the same side as well as the omolateral hard palate were also involved. The literature concerning the pathology is reviewed, pointing out the importance of performing further examinations in these patients in order to look for hyperpigmented lesions in other organs. The therapeutic approach is also reported.
