Two cases of Ducrey’s streptobacillosis

Ducrey’s streptobacillosis is a venereal disease caused by Haemophilus ducreyi, a Gram negative coccobacillus. Two cases in non-seropositive patients treated with azithromycin are reported. The epidemiology, clinical features, hypothesis concerning the role of this disease in heterosexual HIV transmission, differential and laboratory diagnosis are discussed.
