Localized malignant pleural mesothelioma (LMPM) is an extremely rare form of malignant mesotheliomas. The definitive therapeutic modality of the disease is yet to be identified. We report a case of a 65-year-old woman with LMPM treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy, complete surgical resection and adjuvant chemoradiotherapy. This case is examined in the context of a small number of cases of LMPM in the literature to emphasize the existence of this rare disease entity, their unusual biological behavior and the chief and irreplaceable role of surgery in the treatment of this disastrous disease.
