Intussusception of the cecum and terminal ileum through a colostomy

Colostomy prolapsus and intussusception of the bowel through the colostomy are rare complications. Symptoms and clinical course are different. There are some patient and surgical technique related risk factors for these two complications. Here we report a case with cecum and terminal ileum intussusception through a colostomy and discuss the etiology, differential diagnoses and treatment options.
