Adenocarcinoids of the vermiform appendix are rare and aggressive tumors with histological features of both carcinoid tumor and adenocarcinoma. We report a case of a 53-year-old woman with diffuse infiltration of the appendix wall by an adenocarcinoid. Due to the histological examination, a right hemicolectomy was performed at a later date. We suggest that patients with appendiceal adenocarcinoid require an aggressive surgical therapy as well as a long-term follow-up.
