Hemodynamic superiority of stentless aortic valve
Kestelli M., Ya?a H., Lafci B., Ergünes K., Ilhan G., Besir Y., Abud B., Gurbuz A.
Cardiovascular Surgery Department Ataturk Education and Research Hospital Yesilyurt-Izmir, Turkey
Many studies demonstrated that stentless bioprosthetic valves are hemodynamically superior to stented valves in terms of effective orifice area and transvalvular gradient. Low postoperative mortality and morbidity rates were also advantageous. This case was reported to emphasize the hemodynamic superiority of stentless aortic bioprosthesis and the importance of not involving the suturing area when calculating the probable valve sizes.
