Ruptured aneurysm of the pancreatico-duodenal artery
Wölnerhanssen B. 1, Jacob A. L. 2, Gürke L. 1, Eugster T. H. 1
1 Department of Vascular Surgery University Hospital Basel, Basel, Switzerland 2 Interventional Radiology
In a 48-year-old female suffering from abdominal pain an abdominal ultrasound showed cholecystolithiasis and signs of an acute appendicitis. In laparoscopy a ruptured aortic aneurysm was suspected. Computed tomography showed an aneurysm of the pancreatico-duodenal artery, arteriography showed occlusion of the celiac trunk and retrograde perfusion of spleen and liver from the gastro-duodenal artery. Therefore an aorto-hepatic venous bypass was performed prior to clipping and coiling the aneurysm of the pancreatico-duodenal artery.
