PDF

The importance of antibiotic prophylaxis in abdominal surgery is discussed. The effectiveness of levofloxacin administered at first intravenously and subsequently orally to 20 patients who underwent laparoscopic colecystectomy, is analysed. None of the 20 patients had infectious complications. The period in bed was 2 days maximum after surgical intervention with clinical follow-up on postoperative day 5 and 7.
