The case of carcinoid tumor reported concentrates the main features accompanying this kind of neuroendocrine neoplasms, such as long clinical latency, symptomatological aspecificity, advanced stage when diagnosed. Located at the distal ileum, it wasn't accompanied by pathognomonic syndrome, but a solitary hepatic metastasis, which made possible surgical treatment of the disease, with left hemicolectomy and cuneiform resection of the VI hepatic segment. The poor prognosis of advanced ileal carcinoids (5 year survey: N0 M+ = 54%), didn't lead us to give up the radical exeretic strategy, that's anyway the only device to improve survival.
