Centro di Chirurgia del Piede, Clinica Fornaca di Sessant, Turin, Italy
The Author traces the evolution of anatomical-functional studies on the foot over time, starting from the traditional ones, through the subsequent innovations proposed by Paparella Treccia, up to the current interpretation on the close relationship between the shape and function of the foot in the Calcaneal Articular Complex according to G. Pisani.
