Stress fracture of the neck of the talus in presence of synostosis calcaneo-navicularis: case report

The tarsal coalition represent a rare disease characterized by abnormal connection of two or more bones with limited or complete lack of motility and mobility of the hindfoot. They can be classified according to the pathogenetic mechanism, the anatomo-pathological characteristics and the bones involved. The tarsal coalition involving a highly antiphysiological condition and are well known in the literature degenerative alterations on resulting biomechanical basis to rigid tie presence. This work introduces a rare case of stress fracture of the neck of the talus in presence of synostosis calcaneo-navicularis trying to hypothesize the mechanism of lesion.
