Neurilemmoma of the medial plantar branch of the posterior tibial nerve
Pisani P. C.
We describe a case of neurilemmoma of the medial plantar branch of the posterior tibialis nerve, in a 35 year old female, already surgically treated for neurectomy of the 2nd common digital nerve for Morton's disease. We indicate clinical and anatomo-pathological aspects of the lesion, defined for site and dimension by the MRI and we describe the surgical operation. The exposure of the case allows a review of the existing literature, also related to the possibility of malign transformation of a lesion usually characterized by a benign aspect.
