Arterial pathology of the foot
Dominici P., Dominici U., Elia P., Giribone G., Mazzucchetti S.
Arterial pathology of the lower limbs may be clinically and objectively manifest at the level of the foot, given that this represent the most distal area of peripheral arterial vascularisation. A knowledge of anatomy and peripheral vascular diagnostic procedures, as well as the main instrumental tests used to investigate arterial disease is undoubtedly important for the foot orthopedic surgeon who may often have to treat the foot affected by arterial disease. In this case, the close collaboration between angiologist and foot surgeon is important to evaluate the risk of failure for surgical procedures.
