An alter­na­tive clo­sure tech­nique for lim­it­ed thor­a­cot­o­my inci­sions is ­described ­below. This tech­nique con­sists of fix­ing the inter­cos­tal mus­cles ­with hor­i­zon­tal ­matress ­sutures. Also the ­described tech­nique can be ­applied ­where the ­ribs are spread­ min­i­mal­ly in ­such lim­it­ed thor­a­cot­o­my inci­sions.
