Car­di­o­plegia injec­tion ­site may be the ­source of ­serious haem­or­rhagic com­pli­ca­tions ­either intra­op­er­a­tively or ­during the ­early post­op­er­a­tive ­period. ­Here we ­describe a ­simple tech­nique ­that ­allows a ­rapid con­trol of hemo­stasis at ­this ­site. An autol­o­gous per­i­car­dial ­patch is ­used to ­repair and ­strengthen the ­aortic ­wall.
