Livedo, livedoid manifestations and cutaneous ulcers
Ciro MANZO
Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, ex Ospedale “Mariano Lauro”, Sant’Agnello, Naples, Distretto 59, ASL NA 3 Sud, Naples, Italy
In patients with ulcers difficult to diagnose, the presence of some cutaneous manifestations around them can help their right recognition, so reducing the diagnostic timing with a prompt and appropriate therapeutic approach. We present two clinical cases in which the ulceration of a vasculitic nodule associated with livedo reticularis (case 1) and the association livedo racemosa-ulcers – white atrophy (case 2) allowed a right diagnosis and a successful therapy. In these two paradigmatic cases, the diagnosis was possible at bedside or in surgery and the therapy could start without cutaneous biopsy.
