Clinical investigation in homecare treatment of cutaneous ulcers using frems™ technology (Frequency Rhythmic Elec-trical Modulation System)

Aim. The project’s aim was to analyze the impact of use of FREMS treatment through a clinical investigation and on organizational aspects. The survey allowed also to evaluate the applicability of the treatment at home versus advanced dressings and wanted to be an opportunity to highlight issues related to the acceptability and operational feasibility.
Methods. During the study were evaluated 60 patients divided into 2 groups: FREMS group and Control group. FREMS group has received conventional medication plus FREMS treatment while Control group has received only conventional medication.
Results. For the patients of group FREMS 25 minutes of attendance for every single treatment have been necessary. Altogether the demanded hour engagement has been of 470 hours.
Conclusion. The result of the study, introduce important elements of reflection for the originality of the positioning of the search in extrahospital setting and for the appraisal of use technology FREMS from domiciliary assistance nurses.
The survey has concurred moreover a quantification, in terms of staff engagement who lend attendance and allow economic appraisals of costs for the treatment of chronic ulcers.
