Aim. The aim of this study was to identify and classify patients according to their needs. Having obtained a complete picture of all the patients in this community care system, the necessity of creating a study group emerged.
Methods. For all 626 patients, an accurate report carried out by the respective health operator (physiotherapist, nurse or health assistant) evidenced the needs of the patient and the service rendered to the patient. This information was used for the classification of patients.
Results. Nearly half of the patients in our care suffer from ulcers, so the primary necessity was to create an appropriate method and the right instruments to handle this topic.
Conclusion. The importance of having an accurate and appropriate instrument to evaluate patients and apply the correct procedures.
