The role of pulsed washing in the treatment of chronic skin lesions. Preliminary results

AIM: The purpose of this paper was to assess the utility of a new washing system in chronic wounds as a coadjuvant in wound bed preparation.
METHODS: Ten patients with chronic skin lesions of varying aetiology were recruited. Pulsed wound washing with a physiological solution was carried out on all patients for 5 consecu- tive days.
RESULTS: An overall improvement was observed in the wound situation.
CONCLUSION: The pulsed washing system can contribute to resumption of skin repair processes.
