Double maxillary cyst: features and management

Radicular cysts are cystic lesions that usually occur at the apices of teeth associated with infections and subsequent pulpal necrosis. The cyst’s lining derives from epithelial cells which proliferate to form the cyst itself. Radicular cysts are the most common lesions among odontogenic cysts. A radicular cyst appears as a radiolucency, usually in continuity with a tooth’s root. Treatment includes surgical enucleation of the lesion and extraction or root canal treatment of the infected tooth. The aim of this article was to present an unusual case of a double maxillary radicular cystic lesion, along with its clinical and radiological features and its surgical management.
