Left neoplastic cervical mass as possible malignant transformation of an amygdaloid cyst

The aim of this paper was to describe the case of a patient affected by a neoplastic cervical mass, discussing about the diagnostic workup and the possible differential diagnosis, focusing on the diagnosis of a cancerization of an amygdaliod cyst through a case report and literature review. The differential diagnosis of a neoplastic neck mass covers a broad spectrum of diseases; an adequate diagnostic workup through the evaluation of clinical, instrumental and radiological data is always crucial, in order to understand if the lesion has a primitive or a metastatic origin. In the presented case, the histological pattern and the absence of any other primary T, allowed to consider the cervical neoplastic lesion as a primitive carcinoma arising from an amygdaloid cyst.
