Rhinosinusitis and asthma
Krouse J. H.
Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA, USA
Evidence from both epidemiological and clinical data suggests that there is a close association between the presence of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and asthma, as well as in the relationship between the severity of these two conditions. In addition, treatment of CRS, either surgically or medically, has been demonstrated to improve asthma severity and asthma control. This review will examine the evidence linking CRS and asthma within the context of the unified airway model.
