he vomeronasal organ in the humans

In many mammals, the vomeronasal organ (VNO) detects chemical clues released in the environment by conspecifics, thereby modulating key aspects of sexual behaviour and reproduction. The presence and possible function of the VNO in humans has been a matter of debate in the scientific literature for a long time. In the last ten years, new findings suggesting possible functions of the VNO in the adult human have prompted for further investigation of this organ. This paper is a survey of articles on the human VNO filed in the Medline database in the last decade, with special attention paid to morphology.
