In 1872, Moriz Kaposi, a Hungarian dermatologist, first reported 5 cases of bluish skin lesions he defined as idiopathic multiple pigmented sarcoma of the skin. In this review the authors describe the epidemiology, etiopathogenesis, histology, clinical manifestations and therapy of Kaposi sarcoma.
