Cutaneous larva migrans acquired in Lombardy
Veraldi S. 1, Bottini S. 1, Schianchi R. 2, Carrera C. 1
1 Istituto di Scienze Dermatologiche, IRCCS Università degli Studi di Milano, Milano 2 Ospedale Fatebenefratelli, Milano
The authors present a case of cutaneous larva migrans localized to the the right wrist and calf in a 62-year-old caucasian man, farmer in the district of Lodi (Lombardy). The infestation appeared following the contact with hydraulic pumps and suction pipes which had been used to irrigate a field. Since the patient never left Lombardy, in all his life, this case is an example of autochthonous cutaneous larva migrans.
